Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) — The children in the DPRK enjoyed the June 1 International Children’s Day.

Nurseries and kindergartens in new streets of the capital city and rural villages which have been changed befitting the new era of rural development under the benevolence of the Workers’ Party of Korea were in a festive mood.

The children’s art performances and sports and amusement games took place at Kyongsang Kindergarten, Changgwang Kindergarten, Pyongyang Baby Home, Pyongyang Orphanage, Wolhyang Kindergarten in Moranbong District, Munsin Kindergarten No. 2 in Tongdaewon District, the Nursery of Raengchon-dong No. 1, etc. decorated with such slogans as “We Are the Happiest in the World!” and “We Are Happy!”, different stringed miniature flags, balloons and flowers .

The gymnastics and colorful amusement games which began to the tune of different children’s songs were filled with pleasure of happy children who are growing up with nothing to envy in the socialist country.

The children of the Haeju Baby Home and the Sinuiju Orphanage showed the happy appearance of them who are growing bright and cheerful under the warm care of the motherly party.

Children of nurseries and kindergartens of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Ryongsong Machine Complex, Oguk Farm in Anak County and other units revved up the festive atmosphere through diverse folk games and amusement games.

Meanwhile, the Changgwang Sparkler Shop which was newly opened in Rimhung Street, Pyongyang Children’s Department Store and other commercial service establishments across the country were with the children who were happy to receive sparklers, picture books and toys. -0
