NO PUNITIVE SANCTIONS AGAINST THE DPRK! PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP WITH PEOPLES KOREA INSTEAD!

On July 6th 2020, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom adopted a new round of punitive sanctions against individuals and institutions in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. This set of sanctions was imposed by the Foreign Office under the pretext of its “New Global Human Rights’ Regime”. The pretext for the imposition of these measures on the DPRK by the UK Government is a fictitious one and has no basis in reality. By enforcing these measures, the UK authorities are returning to the mentality of the colonial era, when they believed the Empire had the right to intervene anything where into the internal affairs of other nations. The imperial high handedness has long disappeared from the global stage and respect for the sovereignty and independence of national states is the norm.

Our branch condemns such provocative behaviour by the British Government in its relations with the DPRK. Instead the administration of Boris Johnson should be working for increased trade ties with the DPRK and to improve cultural and tourist cooperation between the two countries. The UK should as a party in the Korean conflict of 1950-53 take responsibility for past misfortunes and strive for peace on the Korean peninsula. The Staffordshire KFA branch urges all people of goodwill to oppose all these measures taken by the UK Government indications of possible war moves in Korea. We call for peace and reunification in Korea, and for solidarity and friendship with the DPRK!!!

NO TO ALL SANCTIONS AGANIST THE DPRK!

FOR FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE UK AND THE DPRK!

KOREA IS ONE!
