Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) — The 25th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Tuesday.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the SPA, presided over the meeting.
Attending the meeting were Vice-Chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the SPA Standing Committee. Present as observers were officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions.
Agenda items included the issue of adopting the law of the DPRK on sci-tech talents management and the issue of recalling and electing a judge and people’s assessors of the Central Court of the DPRK.
There was a report on the basic contents of draft laws examined at the Legislation Committee of the SPA.
The mission of the law on sci-tech talents management is to realize the unified state control and administration of the talents on a higher level so that they can play a leading and pivotal role in developing the country’s economy and improving the people’s living standard.
Its provisions deal with the principled issues for further improving the talents management, including the issue of establishing the trait of attaching importance to the sci-tech talents in all fields and units, the issue of systematically training and registering them and the issue for the improvement of their qualifications and working and living conditions.
The meeting deliberated on opinions on the draft laws and adopted them in decrees of the SPA Standing Committee.
A judge and people’s assessors of the Central Court of the DPRK were recalled and elected at the meeting. -0-
