It was the noble outlook on the people of the great leader Kim Jong Il that the people should be regarded as the God and a star should be plucked from the sky and flowers be grown on a rock for their happiness.
Kim Jong Il constantly thought and worked, finding his greatest pleasure and pride in the people’s happiness. He provided the people with the best things without taking into account the economic profit in the work for them.
Pleasure and Pride
Do the people like it?
It was the first question Kim Jong Il used to ask wherever he went and when he saw something.
When he saw a piece of equipment or a product, he would ask if the people like it and say it was okay if they liked it.
When he visited the Amusement Park of Kaeson Youth Park despite cold weather in December 2011, he stopped walking before one of the amusement facilities.
He looked at it for a long while as if picturing to himself the people taking it with pleasure. And he asked officials if many people come to the park and if they like the facilities.
An official said people really like them and are reluctant to leave the park. Hearing him, Kim Jong Il beamed all over his face.
When he called at the Central Zoo, he stressed time and again that the officials should do more things to provide the people with the happiest life in the world.
Like this, he regarded it as his lifelong pride to devote himself to the happiness of the people.
Calculation Method of the Workers’ Party of Korea
One April day, tens of years ago, Kim Jong Il called a consultative meeting of officials to discuss ways to make larger quantities of delicious and highly nutritious foods and supply them to the people and children.
That day, he asked officials about their opinions as regards an issue on building a new process at a factory.
Nobody answered readily because a lot of money was needed to do it.
At that time there was an acute shortage of fund as the work to build a lot of monumental edifices in all parts of the country was being vigorously promoted.
After a while, an official suggested that it be put off.
Lost in deep thought for a good while, Kim Jong Il warmly said to the officials: Of course, we should make calculation to build a factory. But calculation should not be given first anytime. If we only make calculation, we can do nothing for the people.
We should invest all the fund of the country to provide the people with a happy life. Let’s not give priority to calculation for the people. This is my arithmetic and the calculation method of our Party.
Father of the People
Kim Jong Il made continued efforts and uninterrupted journey of field guidance for the people. One day in February 2003, he met journalists and writers and earnestly said: It is natural for us to feel a pride of making revolution despite trials when we see the happy people. I think I should do more things for the people whenever hearing that they are happy.
He continued his field guidance tour in the whole period of his revolutionary leadership so as to provide the people with the happiest life in the world.
Thanks to his love and devotion for the people, many monumental edifices were built on this land to bring about a change in the improvement of the people’s living.
Indeed, Kim Jong Il was the benevolent father of the people, who devoted his all to them.
