Our people are celebrating the spring holiday of February with brimming happiness at a time when the whole country is filled with the spring fragrance of regional rejuvenation.
February 16, 1942, was the day when an eternal spring began on this land unfolding a bright future. Therefore, it is with great joy and festivity that our people are greeting this jubilant season which fills our people’s hearts with hope and confidence.
Chairman Kim Jong Il is an extraordinary politician, peerless patriot and benevolent father who led to victory the revolutionary cause of Juche – the great socialist cause – and performed immortal exploits for the Party and revolution, fatherland and people.
With his exceptional wisdom and through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities, Chairman Kim Jong Il formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism and extensively developed it into the great leading idea of the era of independence. Thus he provided the treasured sword of victory for the realization of the great cause of independence of the popular masses.
Chairman Kim Jong Il led the socialist construction to victory and put our fatherland in the position of a dignified power by holding fast to the self-reliance as the treasured sword of prosperity.
During the grim period of difficulties when anti-DPRK isolation and pressure by imperialists were at its extreme, Chairman Kim Jong Il carried on the arduous march of field guidance permeated with patriotic devotion and wisely led our people’s struggle to effect great upsurges across the country and eye-opening events one after another amid the flame of a new industrial revolution.
Indeed, Chairman Kim Jong Il wholly devoted his great lifetime for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people deeply cherishing ardent love for the fatherland and the people.
Today, our country has greeted a new spring of overall national development under the sophisticated and seasoned leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has inherited all the disposition of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
Our people will unite more firmly behind respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and resolutely overcome all sorts of challenges and difficulties lying ahead of us.
