UK KFA has been asked by a member to comment on a story being floated by a notorious US CIA propaganda broadcasting station ‘Radio Free Asia ‘ about the alleged execution of a DPRK sea captain for listening to ‘Radio Free Asia ‘
Needless to say the story quotes anonymous and unidentified sources . offering no hard evidence at all for it . The story contains the following flaws
- Self-contradictory -the alleged executed sea captain described as ‘an owner of a fishing fleet ‘ but later in the story as ‘ working out of a fishery base affiliated with the Central Party’s Bureau 39,’
- Supposedly was executed in front of a ‘100 boat captains’ but the fishing fleet was said to have 50 boats
- In fact in the DPRK no individual can own 50 or a 100 fishing boats . Everything is owned by the state or co-operatives or social organisations
- Why did the fisherman wait 15 years before reporting the sea captain to the authorities ?
- No one in the DPRK can be executed without a trial and no trial was reported in KCNA
- The death penalty in the DPRK is only applied for very serious offences such as , terrorist acts, treason, sabotage and subversion, intentional murder, drug trafficking and smuggling.
Radio Free Asia is a very blatant US propaganda broadcasting station that was set up in the 1950s by the US Central Intelligence Agency . It has notoriety as a fake news broadcaster set up by the US to undermine socialism , effect regime change and increase US influence in the world by any means . A US official once cynically concluded that ‘”Wherever we feel there is an ideological enemy, we’re going to have a Radio Free Something,”.
UK KFA rejects the lies of Radio Free Asia !
