Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, enjoyed an art performance for marking the Lunar New Year’s Day on Tuesday.
The Mansudae Art Theatre, the venue for the performance, was filled with the excitement and happiness of the audience to watch a performance in the presence of the General Secretary on the meaningful folk holiday of the year of great revolutionary auspicious events.
When the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un appeared at the auditorium of the theatre with his wife Ri Sol Ju amid the playing of the welcome music, the audience raised stormy cheers of “Hurrah!” for Kim Jong Un, who is ushering in on this land a new world and a new era when the people’s ideals and happiness and desire for building a powerful country are comprehensively translated into reality with his rare ideological and theoretical wisdom, seasoned leadership and warm love for the people.
The respected General Secretary warmly congratulated the audience and the artistes on the Lunar New Year’s Day, acknowledging the enthusiastic cheers.
Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, Jo Yong Won, Kim Tok Hun and Pak Jong Chon, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Ri Il Hwan, Jong Sang Hak, O Su Yong and Thae Hyong Chol, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK.
Monumental famous songs of the era that praise the great Party and the great country and other colorful numbers full of national flavor were put on the stage where major art troupes of high repute performed.
The performance began with the solemn playing of the national song of the DPRK and the overture “Snow Is Falling on New Year’s Day”, in which the performers represented with fantastic music the boundless trust in the Party Central Committee that has ushered in an era of self-esteem and prosperity unprecedented in the history of the Korean nation spanning 5 000 years, confidently hastening the rosy future of Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Jong Il’s Korea.
Serial folk songs add a zest to the festive mood and famous songs on the theme of patriotism resounded to represent the glorious course of building a country for the people without an equal in the world under the leadership of the WPK.
In the numbers that hardened the will of the people to devote themselves to the socialist country, the performers impressively and lyrically depicted how hopeful and beautiful the future of a powerful country being built by their efforts, wisdom and struggle is.
Songs and dances representing the great pride in the past good deeds and confidence and optimism about the future and nimble and powerful dances met with the great applause of the audience determined to further glorify the socialist country to be envied by the world, to which they added luster generation after generation, paving the path of prosperity by dint of self-reliance.
Then the songs about the single-minded unity of the people dedicated to the ever-victorious WPK that is fully demonstrating the dignity and prestige of a powerful country, unfolding the great programme for the victory of the revolution, were put on the stage full of excitement, revving up the festive atmosphere.
The first monumental hymn “O Mother Party” that sings of the Party as mother and the popular odes to the Workers’ Party including “I Love Mother” and “Our Mother” were put on the stage to vividly depict the true looks peculiar to Juche Korea where the Party and the people have formed a harmonious whole sharing the same ideology, intention, feelings and moral obligation.
The performance reached its climax with the female solo and mixed pangchang (off-stage song) “I Will Follow You for Life” and the mixed chorus and male chorus “Oh Party, It’s Thanks to Your Care” instilling the iron truth that victory and glory are in store for the Korean people as the revolution is led by Kim Jong Un, the symbol of the mightiness of our state and the destiny and future of our people and there are a large contingent of the single-mindedly united people remaining true to the intention of the Party.
The performance, which truthfully depicted the vitality and spirit of the great era of Kim Jong Un, an era of our state-first principle, when continuous leaps and advances are made, ended with the finale “Snow Is Falling on New Year’s Day”.
At the end of the performance, enthusiastic cheers rocked the theatre again.
The respected General Secretary took the stage with Ri Sol Ju to shake hands with the performers and congratulated them on the successful performance before having a photo taken with them.
All the performers and audience hardened their iron will to devote their patriotic passion to carrying out the decisions of the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, bearing in mind the unwavering faith that their glorious life and eternal prosperity of the country are ensured when they accelerate the advance of socialism following the great Party Central Committee. -0-
