It is said that the future of a certain country and nation are reflected in the children. However, on this planet, there is a cold-blooded society where child contempt and child maltreatment are worsening without any trace of human warmth.
Sometime ago, a newspaper carried a shocking case where a 5-year-old British child suffering from pneumonia has been taken to clinic and hospital for several times but finally breathed his last as he could not be hospitalized due to the cruel behavior of the hospital side.
At that time, the hospital authorities did not permit the hospitalization with an excuse that they have been left with no other choice as they are running out of human resources including doctors and nurses and beds for in-patients are fully occupied. The authorities also gave a rebuff saying a complaint, if any, should be given to “big people”. As a result, the child had died in suffering at home.
Meanwhile, UNICEF has issued a report that though one third of minors in France are suffering from psychological derangement, they have to wait 6 months or one year on average to be on the waiting list for medical treatment at “psychological medical center” and more than one out of five children are living below the poverty line and 42 thousands are hanging around on the streets.
Also in Japan, maltreatment of students at schools has reached to all-time record in 2021 with more than 610 thousand cases, thus stirring up a serious social controversy. Accordingly, relevant ministries and agencies came up with a council for countermeasures and had the first meeting.
The moral corruptness of capitalist society which tramples underfoot the children’s right to life once again corroborates the fact that “civilization” and “standard” chanted by Western politicians can by no means be “human rights standard”.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child stipulates that child is protected against all forms of discrimination or punishment and the rights to education and recreational activities should be ensured. But the reality is that this is a mere unattainable dream for the capitalist society.
In our country, the Party and state sets the work for the coming generation as the top priority and invariably implements the benevolent policies for children including the universal free medical system, the system for nursing and upbringing of children and the compulsory free education system even in the teeth of the grave national crises and hardships.
Thanks to the fervent love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the coming generation and future, our children, the kings and queens of the country, are now growing up without any worry into the pillars of the country who would shoulder the future of the motherland in the socialist society of our own style where the most progressive health and education systems are perfected to the full.
